The Serbian is expected to land in the country later tonight to seal his much-awaited second coming as Black Stars coach
Serbian Coach Milovan Rajevac will he arriving in the country later tonight to seal a deal with Ghana Football Association as the next Black Stars coach, according to reports in the local media
The 64-year-old is expected to replace Charles Kwablah Akonnor who was sacked last week following uninspiring results after ten games in charge.
Although, Ghana FA set up a three man committee to search for a new coach, reports suggest that they settled on Milovan and he will have to come down to finalise the negotiations.
Milovan will be making a return to Ghana after more than a decade away having led the Black Stars to reach the quarterfinals of the 2010 Fifa World Cup held in South Africa.
That year, his good works didn’t go unnoticed as he was adjudged African Best Coach of the Year.
With Ghana are struggling in the 2022 Fifa World Cup qualifiers, currently sitting second position in Group C behind leaders South Africa, Milovan is expected to turn the fortunes around and guide the Black Stars to make it to Qatar next year.
If he is confirmed in the coming days, his first major assignment will be the game against Zimbabwe at either Cape Coast Sports Stadium or Baba Yara Sports Stadium on October 5. The Black Stars will then head to Harare four days later for the return encounter.
